Adam Guirdham, senior community officer, leaves Chesterfield FC Community Trust today, after eight years of service across multiple projects.

Speaking about his feelings about leaving the Trust, Adam said: “Really mixed emotions. I’ve really enjoyed my eight years here, working at a Trust, so naturally I’m sad to be moving on, but at the same time excited for what’s to come.

“I will still be a supporter of not just the football club but the Trust, and I’m going to continue to wish everybody all the best for the future. The eight years have been some of my most memorable. I have really, really enjoyed it.”

Reflecting on his journey during the eight years, Adam added: “I started initially part-time in schools and also running our Pan Disability football sessions, which has grown into the incredible programme that it is now.

“I’ve worked across various departments from our Education and Wellbeing, now to our Healthy Communities and also working on the Football Development Programme with the girls’ Football and Education teams, taking on responsibility as a senior community officer.”

Adam highlighted the Pan Disability work as some of his most fond memories, saying: “I think working with the children and young people who attend our Pan Disability and Camp Inspire sessions, we’ve impacted so many different families, and just any nice message and reflection from that really brings a warm smile.

“The standout for me is Debbie Dance, Aaron Dance, and Sam Dance, when we first met them at an event looking to share our Pan Disability sessions. Now they’ve been with us ever since and have been across a variety of our programmes.”

Craig Dawson will step into Adam’s role at the Trust. Speaking about this, Adam commented: “I put Craig forward myself. I’ve worked with him for a couple of years now and have had the pleasure of supporting him.

“I’m really, really proud of him and the hard work that he’s put in to step up into a new role. I thoroughly back him. He’s extremely passionate, caring, and I know he’ll do an amazing job. I’ll still always be here to support him and give him any guidance should he need it, but I know he’ll be fine.”

Everybody at the Trust would like to thank Adam for his time at the Trust and wish him all the best in the future!
