Winter Camp Inspire bookings are live, but spaces are limited, at Duckmanton Primary School on December 29, 30 and 31 and January 2.
Craig Dawson has spoken about the impact of Camp Inspire, saying: “Around the Christmas period, where presents are a massive thing and not a lot of kids get that, to offer something free in the area for children, young people and for families that might struggle along around Christmas, is important.
“Parents/carers can have a bit of respite, a chance just to put their feet up a little bit. A lot of the kids that we have some quite extreme needs, so the fact that they get a bit of a break means a lot to us.”
Children who attend will take part in two physical sessions, an enrichment session and a nutrition session. Breakfast and a free hot meal is also provided. Craig added: “They’re all going to come and have an amazing time. We’ve got some new faces as well coming along, which is quite nice and means a great deal to us; it means that they’ll open their eyes to how good camp is.”
Craig praised Duckmanton Primary School for agreeing to host Camp Inspire, saying: “They’ve been really good. We approached them when we were struggling for a venue, and they said you can come and use our space, and I think they want to work with us more often, which is nice.”
