Rosaleigh Robinson has been chosen as the Trust’s Community Captain for volunteering on the Trust’s Premier League Kicks programme at the weekly SEND performance session as part of the Premier League’s More Than A Game campaign.
They are one of 93 Community Captains nominated this season for the positive impact they have had in their local area.
Rosaleigh is one of 545 young people supported by the Trust through Premier League Kicks sessions in Chesterfield, thanks to Premier League investment.
Ryan Cheshire, youth engagement mentor, discussed the reasons behind the selection of the Trust’s Community Captain. He said: “The staff at the sessions have nominated Rosaleigh because they’ve seen increased confidence since she’s been volunteering with us.
“Rosalie is a shining example of how a volunteer on the Premier League Kicks programme can impact other young people. Her engagement with the participants has been great.”
Ryan also commented on the importance of young people volunteering, adding: “It’s really, really important. It gives them experiences for future pathways, and it also gives them an insight into what the Trust actually do and that we are more than just football.”
