Chesterfield FC Community Trust would like to thank Gold Friend of the Trust, BRM Solicitors, who ran a ‘Wills Month’ throughout February, which raised £8,881.10 for the Trust.

The Chesterfield and Sheffield-based legal firm offered its professional Will writing services throughout February in exchange for a voluntary donation to the Trust.

This was the second year in a row Chesterfield FC Community Trust and BRM have partnered to run the Wills Month campaign, which raised £11,390 in 2025.

Rob Woodhead commented on the campaign’s success, explaining: “The aim is to support the Trust and raise funds for them. It allows individuals, mainly from the Chesterfield area, to come in, make their will and make a donation in support of the Trust at the same time. We raise funds and try and back the Trust for everything that they do in the area.

Everyone should make a will if they possibly can, so get one done and do it whilst ever it’s terrific value and you can support the Trust at the same time. We’ll be doing it again next year.”

Rob also urged other businesses to support the Trust, adding: “I’d say to any company to come and have a look around the trust and see what they do on a daily basis. I think the charity itself is a fantastic charity; it works within the community very well locally, and it’s really well run. It’s well worth supporting, get on it if you can do it.”

The Trust’s chairman, Mike Goodwin, also spoke on the support received from BRM. He explained: “It’s hugely important for us. We’ve now taken over £20,000 over the last couple of seasons, which is immense really and will help quite a bit towards some of the projects that we don’t get allocated funding for.

“This is unallocated funding, which gives us a little bit of freedom to support some of the projects that maybe we don’t get enough funding for. Things like Camp Inspire, if we can’t find enough funding to do it, then we can make a decision and say, ‘we’ll put some of our funds in because it’s that important for us to do.’

“All charities struggle for cash, it’s hand to mouth, and we’re always looking for opportunities to bring people in and help us and actually show them what we do. A lot of people don’t know what the Trust does, and as soon as they come down, they talk to us, they get involved, they’re blown away and they’re amazed by what we actually do.”
