Chesterfield FC Community Trust is appealing for Spireites shirt/kit donations ahead of the home fixture with Bromley on Saturday, January 17. Donations will go to Saltergate Children’s Home in Ethiopia.
The children’s home is a charity that secures legal housing for abandoned or orphaned children, where they are sheltered, clothed, fed and have access to medical facilities and a progressive education.
Speaking about supporting this cause, the Trust’s deputy head of community, Keith Jackson, said: “We’ve worked with Kevin at Saltergate Children’s Home for a number of years now, and the Chesterfield FC fans have always been incredibly generous in donating old shirts, shorts, scarves, hats, and more.
“It is a wonderful thing to do. When you see the youngsters in Ethiopia wearing Chesterfield shirts and waving flags, it just shows the international language of football and it is great for us to be able to give that support.”
