A group of charity fundraisers will be taking in a visit to the SMH Group Stadium on Saturday for Chesterfield’s game against Tranmere Rovers.
Pete Summers, a DHL Aviation UK Ltd employee, and some of his colleagues have taken on the challenge of running from East Midlands Airport, to local sports grounds across the Midlands, all in aid of Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.
Rainbows rely on donations to provide vital medical care and support to hundreds of babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.
DHL is proud to be supporting Rainbows and to make a difference in the local community and to be able to see the difference donations make to the services they offer.
Before he started the challenge, Pete said: “People say I’m mad, doing this challenge. But having visited Rainbows, it’s the least I could do for them.
“If you don’t know much about Rainbows, their purpose is ‘brightening short lives’, which sums up exactly what they do. Their amazing work only happens through funding, so if I can help raise money through doing something I love then that will brighten my day too.”
For this team of athletes to put their bodies on the line for such a cause is incredible, so good luck to everyone taking part!
If you want to donate to Pete and his team, please text DHL followed by your donation amount to 70085. You can donate between £1 and £20.
