Friend of the Trust, Wesco Anixter, welcomed Chester the Fieldmouse to their Family Fun Day in June, giving him the chance to meet staff and their families while taking part in a range of activities.
Chester had a fantastic time throughout the day, climbing aboard a fire engine, trying his luck on the racing games, and enjoying the entertainment provided by the brilliant Stannington Brass Band. He also got a behind-the-scenes look at warehouse operations, trying on a Wesco Anixter high-visibility jacket and learning about the importance of workplace safety.
The event also gave Chester the opportunity to meet young people and fellow Spireites supporters, making it a memorable day for everyone involved.
As part of the celebrations, a raffle was held in aid of Chesterfield FC Community Trust. Thanks to the generosity of Wesco Anixter staff, an incredible £2,091 was raised. With June being Wesco’s Month of Caring, the organisation committed to matching the donation at a ratio of 2:1, taking the total amount raised to a phenomenal £6,273.
Keith Jackson, Deputy Head of Community at Chesterfield FC Community Trust, said:

We have worked closely together for over a year now and they have supported the Trust through sponsoring our SEND Football Teams, as well as volunteering at our Community Hub. To do this in addition makes such a difference to us and directly supports running our projects across the local area.”
