The new legacy badges for Chesterfield former players have been launched. Each of the 1,193 Football League players, the 78 who played in the National League and the 42 who represented the club in first-team cup competitions, is a full member of the CFC Former Players’ Association.

All the permanently appointed managers are full members, too.

Players who didn’t make a first-team appearances, as well as coaches and backroom staff, can be associate members.

At the latest Spireites in Mind group meeting, 13 members received their badge along with a membership card which shows the debut graphic and unique number for the Football League players.

Players have been kind enough to make donations when receiving badges and these will go towards heritage projects, particularly ones connected to former players.

If any player wishes to collect their badge and members card, they should contact Peter Whiteley via peterwhiteley@chesterfield-fc.co.uk.

The 13 who received their badges were: Back row: Ron Reid, Frank Barlow, Billy Dearden, Colin Prophett, Gary Pollard, Jim Brown, Mick Henderson, Ron Welch. Front row: Sean O’Neill, Sam Hird, Dave Pugh, Alan Roe, Steve McVann.
