Season ticket holder Delkin Collins has set himself the challenge of walking 100 miles in April in aid of Andy’s Man Club.

Delkin, who is 16-years-old, explained why he feels it is important to support the charity, saying: “Andy’s Man Club is a men’s mental health peer group for people over the age of 18. Men’s suicide figures are rising and there are some men who feel there’s no way out, which shouldn’t be the case.

“I’ve got autism myself and I’ve always struggled with my mental health. Whilst I was at my lowest, it was Chesterfield FC that supported me and without this club, I don’t know where I’d be.”

Outlining his fundraising challenge, Delkin said: “I’m going to be walking 100 miles in April and I might raise the target distance.

“My first walk is going to be on the Chesterfield Canal, and I’m wanting to do a big walk to start my challenge. I’m looking to knock off about seven-and-a-half miles, with a few of my friends.

“I’m going to have Ollie Banks joining me for one of the walks, which will either be around the ground or at the training ground. I’m really grateful for Ollie for the opportunity he’s given me and I just want to say a massive thank you to the club.

“I just want to raise as much awareness, especially with one of the groups being down at the stadium. It’s an amazing charity and it’s one that definitely needs more recognition and funding.

“I raised £1,250 for Dementia UK by walking 75 miles, and I saw Andy’s Man’s Club and it caught my eye because it’s something personal to me and I know I could help people that need it by raising some money.”
