Supporting Former Footballers Living with Dementia

Spireites in Mind is a free monthly group run by Chesterfield FC Community Trust for former professional footballers affected by dementia.

Held at the SMH Group Stadium, the sessions provide a welcoming and relaxed environment where former players can reconnect with others who understand their experiences, enjoy social activities and hear from a variety of guest speakers. The sessions help to stimulate memory and conversation while encouraging connection and confidence.

Led by former Chesterfield FC player Sean O’Neill, the group is open to former professional footballers from any club.
