The Trust led another successful player visit at Woodthorpe C of E Primary School this week, as Zach Hemming, Ashton Rinaldo and Connor Cook attended and took part in a Q&A session.

Speaking immediately after the visit, Rinaldo said: “I really enjoyed it, I thought it was great, seeing all the kids here, how much they care about the club and the community, and just interacting with them in general was a really great time. I really enjoyed it.

“I remember when I was a kid, hearing that people were coming in, I was so excited for it, and just knowing that I can be here to hopefully make their day or at least be a good part of it is great.”

Mrs Trundell, of Woodthorpe C of E Primary School, spoke about the experience, saying: “They’ve been so excited, as soon as they found out that the players were coming, it was just absolutely amazing, I think it’s very inspiring for the children.

“It was just amazing to see them just answering questions, that they’re just normal people, we’re so grateful for the opportunity. Most of our children will go to games, most of our children know the players, and it’s just great that they’re giving their time to come and actually meet the children.”

Finally, Mrs Trundell spoke about the benefits of being a CFCCT Partner School. She explained: “The Trust started with us a few years ago, and they’ve inspired staff as well in our PE lessons.

“The children thoroughly enjoy them coming each week, they get to experience different sports, and they also run some after-school clubs for us as well. They’ve just been such a huge benefit to us here.”
