Developed by Chesterfield FC Community Trust as part of the Extra Time Initiative in 2011, walking football is a slower-paced version of the sport that removes running. It was created to help individuals stay active while also reducing social isolation.

As the world’s first walking football club, the Trust continues to lead with sessions that make match-style football accessible to people of all fitness levels. Held in a relaxed, supportive environment, sessions prioritise fun, friendship, and physical activity.
