Drew Illingworth-Turner (pictured on the left) left her youth engagement service lead role last week, after three years with the Trust.
Commenting on her departure from the Trust, Drew said: “I am very emotional. I started here three years ago as a social prescribing link worker, and I came from being a casual community coach on Sheffield Wednesday’s Community Programme.
“Working full-time at the Trust has opened my eyes to how much they really do here for the community. I started as one of the link workers, so I was working one-to-one with young people in Chesterfield and the surrounding areas aged 14 to 25.
“It was working with those who are isolated and anxious, getting them back into the community and removing any barriers, whether that be public transport training, finding positive activities out for them in the community, building their relationships and networks in the area with professionals.
“Then a really good opportunity came up to be the youth engagement service lead, working with a different cohort of young people that is more aimed at lowering antisocial behaviour.
“It is very preventative in catching young people that are showing behavioural concerns in school or out in the community, and just working with them and building trusting relationships.”
Speaking about her next steps, Drew added: “I’ll be moving on to Morecambe Football Club Community Trust on their Champions Mentoring Programme, so it will be really exciting to see how another Trust will be run.”
