The Trust’s Molly Hebdige has started running mat pilates sessions at the HUB, which take place every Thursday in the sports hall from 6:30pm-7:15pm.
Molly explained that pilates is for people of all abilities, who are looking to be more active. She said: “It’s a low impact exercise class. It’s nothing like high impact jumping around, anything like that, it’s for all abilities, it’s good for mobility, flexibility, builds up strength. It’s beneficial for those that are recovering from injuries or just looking at getting back into exercise.”
Continuing with how she got into pilates, Molly added: “I’ve done dance since I was young and I’vealways been into the gym and sports and stuff, I’ve always liked Pilates so I decided to get the qualification myself. I started in about February this year, passed the course and I work at a Pilates studio as well as running my own classes.
“The sessions are going well so far. I’m getting consistent numbers but still trying to build it up, trying to reaching out to some new people and grow the group.”
Finally, Molly spoke about her involvement in the Trust, saying: “I started at the Trust through Camp Inspire, so working with young kids with additional needs and now I work in Chester’s Den in the cafe and then through that I’ve had the opportunity to start my classes up in the Sports Hall, free of charge while I’m building it up, hopefully getting some more numbers.”
