The Trust are delighted to have won the Best Community Impact Award at the 2026 Chesterfield Business Awards on Wednesday, July 1.
Deputy head of community, Keith Jackson, commented: “We don’t often put ourselves forward for awards and things like that so to put the nomination in and have a panel that had included Destination Chesterfield, University of Derby and a lot of other organisations that are big businesses in Chesterfield on the panel, in a really competitive category, and pick us as a winner, it means a lot to us.
“We see what we do and the people’s lives that we impact, but it is nice for other people to see that as well and naturally, to win an award is brilliant.”
Keith also spoke about what it means to win a business award as a charity, adding: “We’re very proud to have done that. Community impact can be done by your traditional commercial businesses, but we’re from the third sector, and our purpose is to transform people’s lives, so sometimes you don’t necessarily think of yourself as a business.
“When we put ourselves forward, we knew it was a bit of an outside chance, but it was worth having a go, and we are here, we’ve been here a long time now, and we see the amount of people that we work with, but people still come and say I’m not quite sure what the Community Trust does.
“These things give us an opportunity and a platform to share with more people the things that the Community Trust does and clearly, through getting the award, people recognise that.”
