Olly Parkinson, Aaron & Oli Barnes from the Trust took on the challenge of walking the length of a marathon yesterday (July 28), from Buxton to the SMH Group Stadium, to raise vital funds for our Senior Spireites group.

Immediately after completing the challenge, Oli said: “[It was] incredible, a really good day, the weather was kind to us, a few stops along the way, but a really good feeling.
Olly added: “[It went] very well, very difficult, but it was well worth it. Obviously, it’s a bit of a cheat because it’s with two people, so we’ve had really good fun, but really good overall.”
Continuing with how donations will help the Senior Spireites group, Oli explained: “Every year we like to take them away at Christmas, so we thought we’d raise a couple of quid and take them to a Christmas market in December.
“It’s a self-funded group, so everything that we raise goes back into the group, so it’s really important that we do stupid things like this to raise a couple of quid.”
