Role Overview

We are seeking to appoint an individual to Lead the Football and Education Girls NCFE Level 3 Football delivery, alongside supporting the delivery of the Higher Education Programme at the Trust. 

The individual will have a flexible approach to working in a fast-paced environment. Alongside session planning, delivery and match day leadership, the Lead Coach will support the holistic approach of the students, who access a variety of workshops and athletic opportunities. This will include performance reviews, match analysis, player welfare and safeguarding. 

Core Roles

  • Programme Leadership: Leading the overall coaching program for our further education 16+ programme for girls
  • Player Development: Designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive training sessions and individual development plans (IDPs) that focus on technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of the game, ensuring that we development individuals to their full potential
  • Education Integration: Work alongside education providers to ensure a holistic approach, supporting student-athletes’ academic progress alongside their football development.
  • Staff Mentorship: Line managing, mentoring, developing junior coaches, and other support staff ensuring high-quality delivery and continuous professional development (CPD) across the coaching team.
  • Safeguarding and Welfare: Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all participants, strictly adhering to safeguarding, health and safety, and equality policies along with the management of player injuries, to include immediate care, rehabilitation with a treatment plan to restore back to training and matchday fitness.
  • Student Recruitment: Work alongside Head of Womens and Girls to help support initiatives to promote, create partnerships with educational institutions/football associations internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

Coaching and Training: Plan and deliver high-quality, age-appropriate training sessions; manage matchday preparation, team selection, and in-game management; conduct video and performance analysis.

Education and Welfare: Integrate into the school/college environment; liaise with parents, staff, and education partners; monitor student-athlete progress and provide guidance on career pathways and life skills.

Administration and Operations: Perform administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate records (e.g., attendance, performance data).

Recruitment and Networking: Support the identification and assessment of new talent or trialists; network with local clubs and schools to enhance the programme and seek new opportunities.

Leadership and Development: Act as a positive role model, inspiring confidence and self-belief in both players and staff; lead team meetings; contribute to the wider club/programme philosophy and strategic planning.
